Green Sky was engaged by Cambridge Management Services to conduct a commercial inspection of two roofs in Newstead, Brisbane. The purpose of the inspection was to identify any roof defects as the building was about to come out of the defect liability period (DLP), and they needed to have the issues addressed by the builder. Green Sky used a DJI M300RTK with a P1 45mp camera.
Process
Green Sky conducted a thorough Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) to identify and mitigate any risks associated with the drone operation. Green Sky also cordoned off a safe flight area to prevent the movement of the public within the flight operation path. Green Sky used a DJI M300RTK and P1 45-megapixel camera for the flight operation.
A close visual inspection was conducted with the drone covering the full roof that afternoon.
Results
Green Sky captured high-resolution photos of the roofs from various angles and elevations. The data captured was provided to the client in the form of JPEG images for their review and reporting purposes. The images will used as evidence to identify any defects in the roof and the waterproofing issues. This enabled the client to address the issues with the builder before the DLP ended, thereby saving the induvial body corporate owners significant costs in the long run.
Conclusion
Green Sky provided Cambridge Management Services with a safe, efficient, and cost-effective solution to conduct a thorough inspection of the two commercial roofs. The data captured by Green Sky was used to identify and highlight the defects in the roof and the waterproofing issues, ensuring that the client could have the issues addressed by the builder before the DLP ended, ultimately saving the client significant costs in the long run.
